In 2019, just after graduating from high school, two brothers had a bright idea. When purchasing their brand new laptops (for their studies), they received an extra gift thanks to a great Apple promotion: Beats headphones. And what do you do as young enterprising minds? Exactly, those headphones went into the digital shop window on bol.com. And believe it or not, it was sold within a week! This is how the adventure of 2 young entrepreneurs began.

First purchases

With the carefully saved salary from stocking shelves at Albert Heijn, they started purchasing all kinds of things. The range was a colorful collection: from top brand speakers to designer underpants. There was no clear line in purchasing, but that is what made it so special. It was their passion for entrepreneurship that provided the guiding principle.

First own brand

The brothers then decided it was time for the next step: creating their own brand. The rise of TikTok could not have escaped anyone's attention; everyone was captivated by perfect lighting for their videos. And there the brothers saw their golden opportunity. Ring lights became their new focus. They purchased these in small batches and added a personal touch by packaging them in boxes of their own brand. It turned out to be a bull's eye, because the customers absolutely loved it!

Too ambitious?

Sales went through the roof and before they knew it, they could barely meet the demand. So, what did these two enthusiastic entrepreneurs decide to do? They simply ordered an entire container with no fewer than 2,500 pieces! An ambitious move, especially when you consider that their office was only 25m2. Oops, maybe they thought a little too big. But don't panic, they had two months before the ring lights would be delivered. The clock was ticking and it was clear: it was high time for a space upgrade.

After some research and several conversations with real estate agents, they found the ideal building: a warehouse of 150 m2 with an office of no less than 170 m2. When they moved their stuff, they looked around and thought, "How are we ever going to fill this place?" The office may have seemed a bit on the large side, but for two young guests that was only an advantage. What a space to chill with friends! In no time, a pool table, ping-pong table and game set-up were installed, which immediately made the large offices a lot more cozy.

Fitness Madness

Sales of the ring lamps continued unabated, but the brothers saw more opportunities on the horizon. At that exact moment we were in the middle of the corona period and all gyms were closed. Both were avid fitness enthusiasts and missing the gym was hard. Then one of the brothers thought: "If we miss the gym, there are probably more people who do that." It didn't take long before they decided to add fitness items to their range. From weights to yoga mats, they had it all.

Passion

Although the ring lamps and sports equipment sold well, that was not the brothers' real passion. They did not get the satisfaction they were looking for. Their hearts lay with furniture. They had a clear vision: the often sky-high prices and long delivery times in the furniture industry had to change. They were convinced that stylish furniture did not have to cost the top price. With determination, they were ready to give the furniture market a fresh twist. Their motto? As affordable as possible!
